Maryann's Chocolate Cake     (Maryann was the dinner cook.)

Serves 16 (1/2 Hotel pan)

2 c sugar
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 T baking powder
1/2 T baking soda
1 t salt
3/4 c cocoa
2 eggs
1 c milk
1/2 c oil
2 t vanilla
1 c boiling water

Combine sugar, flour, b powder, b soda, salt and cocoa.
Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla.
Beat 2 min.
Stir in boiling water. (batter will be thin)
Pour into sprayed hotel pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
Cool completely. Chill in freezer will help with cool time.
Top with a chocolate ganache and a marschino cherry. This is also good frosted with whipped cream.
