NWQ -- April 7 - 10, 2011

Miscellaneous, Menus, and Highlights

Thursday

April 7
I was at Barb's about 10:15. We had coffee with Steve, then I 'shopped' in Barb's closet for fabrics for Rita's class on Friday. 'Bought' enough to make two projects.

Next stop was CCQ quilt show. Arden took our entrance fee. Barb bought kit from Mama Made Me. I bought a $5.00 chair massage from Jerome.

1:45 -- left show. Stopped at Wendy's on 4th Plain for shakes and fries.

Coyote Joes is Closed!! It closed on April 1.

3:15 or so -- unloading our stuff at Tilikum.

6:00 - Dinner. My machine is turned on and I'm ready to work. My bed is made, but Barb's isn't. I managed to make 1 double wedding ring arch today.

Tonight Barb drew diagonal lines on x-bazillian white squares. In the morning (Friday a.m.) she discovered that she drew on every 2 1/2 inch square, not the 2 7/8 inch ones. She gave the little rejected 2 1/2 inch ones to Bonnie.

Friday

April 8
I know why my mattress is so comfy! This a.m. Carrie told me that mine is one of 3 that they are trying out. Mine was the staff favorite.

I read for about 10 minutes last night, then was asleep right away at 9:30. I slept until just before 8 a.m.! At home, for the longest time, I have stayed up late, read, or whatever for an hour so so, then stared at the clock for another 2-3 hours. Then the 6 a.m. alarm. I have been so sleep-deprived for so long!

Made another arch today.

4:30 p.m. - Fran announced that she's been here 24 hours and hasn't threaded her machine yet.

Telephoned Mom this afternoon and talked for nearly half an hour.

Made strips for crazy quilt class that Rita will give this evening. I'm super pleased with the fabrics I 'bought' at Barb's.

Currently putting strips together for 2nd seminole sampler for T-heads.

New program person replacing Chris: Michelle

Nancy Lilly showed us how easy it is to make a Migrating Geese Strip. (see drawing that isn't online).

Rita gave the Stripping a Crazy Quilt class and helped all of us organize our strips.

Late in the evening Barb and I regailed the gals with tales of our Houston and Chicago trips.

Awards after breakfast. The awards were done with musical accompanyment. I won the "Ittsy Bittsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" award for my Seminole strips.

At 11:15 we were dismissed from Brunch. Show and Tell will be at 11:30.

My door prize gift (#25) was directional arrrows and two patterns: 'Cottage Creek Joyous Blooms' and 'Yours Truly Giant Dahlia'.
