Miscellaneous, Menus, and Highlights

July 19 - 22, 2009

Sunday

July 19
Barb and Judy came from Brookings, and arrived at 7:00, just as we were having dessert.

Dianne and Colleen both brought tiny new computers. They are set up on the Computer Table.

Nancy was the first to finish a project, which is for a class at the quilt shop Sharon's Attic.

Barb was sewing by 11:00 p.m.! We have two new attendees, Karen C and Karen W, so during the retreat she made two new coasters.

Virginia brought a bed quilt covered with "sayings", which everyone enjoyed reading.

Nancy, Karen C, and Pam were still sewing at 1:15 a.m.

Virginia is tea-dying overnight. She is making a replica of a Kentucky 1880s hexagonal quilt "Double Image". Her tea-dye recipe is 2xEnglish Breakfast and 1xEarl Gray.

Arden arrived at 9:45 this morning. She brought us a bouquet from her garden.

Pam brought her finished tea cup quilt. She was working on it in February, and had hand-quilted it since then.

Barb can't use self-tanning products after 'epilating' because then she would be a "Spotted Lamb".

Karen W finished a Baby Quilt top.

Nancy finished another class sample. This was a "January" quilt top.

Debby has a small-group project using Civil War fabrics. The block had to be a specific size churn-dash, then each person filled the churn-dash with their choice of Civil War fabric and block pattern.

Caroline made a jacket.

Virginia quote: "I bet I'll never make a rose again in my life."

Debby can't decide whether she is going to make a sweater or felt a purse with all the lint she took from her machine.

Caroline made a Sudoku quilt and a nine-patch charity quilt. A friend gave Caroline her mother's stash, and Caroline found 9-patches in the stash. She also made a Puppy quilt.
